A New Detection Scheme of Wave-Breaking Events with Blocking Flow Configurations

چکیده
Abstract Blocking flow configurations, which tend to accompany strong circulation anomalies and therefore can cause extreme weather conditions, have recently been studied in relation large-scale wave breaking (WB). Although WB events detected often from an instantaneous morphology perspective, the present study proposes a new approach for detection wave-activity perspective focusing on its accumulation, saturation, release. This evolution of activity is theoretically equivalent anomalous potential vorticity (PV) flux with sign changing negative positive, utilized this detect that high-amplitude height blocking configurations. As previous studies, given event classified into high pressure type or low depending upon primary PV anomaly center further eastward westward longitudinal movement center. The method applied wintertime Northern Hemisphere shows anticyclone likely eastward-moving center, occurring mostly under anticyclonic westerly shear. By contrast, cyclonic accompanies Composite analysis confirms consistency between sign-changing convergence/divergence quasi-stationary Rossby trains around region.

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
A Modified Flux Vector Splitting Scheme for Flow Analysis in Shock Wave Laminar Boundary Layer Interactions
The present work introduces a modified scheme for the solution of compressible 2-D full Navier-Stokes equations, using Flux Vector Splitting method. As a result of this modification, numerical diffusion is reduced. The computer code which is developed based on this algorithm can be used easily and accurately to analyze complex flow fields with discontinuity in properties, in cases such as shock...

متن کاملMonochromatic and random wave breaking at blocking points
[1] In this paper we study the energy dissipation due to current-limited wave breaking in monochromatic and random waves with the help of experimental tests. The opposing currents are strong enough for wave blocking to occur. A modified bore model is used to simulate the dissipation rate in the monochromatic waves, and an empirical bulk dissipation formula for wave breaking in random waves is p...
متن کاملWave Breaking and Wave Driven Flow in the Nearshore
Understanding wave dissipation in the nearshore is approached through modeling of field observations obtained across a variety of beach profiles and under a wide range of wave conditions. Wave breaking data are obtained remotely from video recordings of the surf zone, and image processing techniques subsequently used to detect and quantify the position and time of wave breaking occurrences over...
